AxSafe Announces Search for a Strategic Partner to Promote
Newest Dialysis Technological Innovation
Hot Springs, AR., March 13, 2007 -- AxSafe™ announced today that it has begun the search for a strategic partner to assist in developing, obtaining FDA approval for and marketing its innovative proprietary technology.
AxSafe™ dialysis technology is the only patented active, fail-safe solution designed to ring an alarm and alert a medical professional when needle dislodgement occurs from a point of access on a patient.
As of 2003, the fast-growing dialysis market had 452,957 patients receiving End-Stage Renal Disease therapy, with 324,826 on dialysis and 128,131 with a functioning transplant, according to the United States Renal Data System. Since 1988, the prevalent dialysis population has nearly tripled and continues to grow at an average annual rate of 13.3%.
AxSafe™ has the potential to be utilized in every needle transaction, including hemodialysis, insulin pumps, and I.V. therapies. In chemotherapy treatments, it protects not only the patient but also the staff and the environment from the harmful effects of hazardous chemicals.
“I can hardly begin to describe to you the physical and emotional effects that such rapid and large blood losses have on a patient”, said Bradley Moll, CBET, inventor and CEO of AxSafe™. “We can change all that. People do not have to die when a needle falls out anymore”, noted Moll. “But the true potential of AxSafe™ can only be measured by the ability of our partners to bring it to the market.”
Companies wishing to partner with AxSafe™ stand to reap not only tangible benefits such as revenue generation, risk reduction, increase market share and reduced time to market, but intangible benefits such as technological leadership, market leadership and patient safety leadership.
About AxSafe™
AxSafe™ is the trade name given the core technology initially developed to address the industry-wide problem of IV and vascular needles becoming dislodged during a medical procedure or treatment. As an experienced medical professional, Brad Moll witnessed firsthand the negative effect of venous needle dislodgment on patients and decided to take action and develop a solution. The end result was the AxSafe™ point-of-access technology, a product designed to be low cost, disposable, simple, easy to use and, above all, dependable.
Axsafe™ has been granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, has a continuing patent application on file, and has filed for patent protection in Canada, China, Japan, India and the European Union.
